Growing Old

Growing old
Does not
Necessarily
Make you
A sage or
Wise.
Growing old
Merely means
You somehow
 Managed
To stay
Alive!

You managed to stay alive
And somehow you did thrive.
And maybe someday you will grow old
But we cannot tell
Until around the edges
We will see a little mold.

Wait a minute now......

I didn't say you were getting old
And I certainly didn't see any mold
But may I be so bold to say
I never saw so much gray!!!

Growing old means you get to say what you want and mean what you say.

Growing old takes gumption.

I remember my father-in-law once saying that growing old was not for the faint-of-heart. So true.

One of the best things about growing old is having fond thoughts of old friends.

The simple way to stay alive is to keep breathing.

Thoughts on growing old is relative depending on how old or how young at heart, but I do agree with the first stanza. I’ll try to get along with physical declining, forgetfulness, and aches when I have. To see my 92-year-old mother, I suppose growing too old would be a lonsome journey, being outlived by loved spouse and siblings, even if supported by children.

Regarding your comment - Kobe Golf Club is still actively used. According to Wikipedia, the club began as a nine-hole course on May 24, 1903, but quickly expanded to eighteen the following year. It is an exceptionally hilly playing environment different from yours at Stone Creek.

I believe in the power of positive thinking and I’m sure your wife will overcome cancer. After the surgery, it is real spring. I keep my fingers crossed.
